JWL is committed to offering tertiary education in communities at the margins of societies – those societies that through poverty, location, lack of opportunity, conflict or forced displacement exist among the rural or urban poor, indigenous or isolated displaced people. Together JWL and its Community Learning Centers form a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-religious global community of learners enabling all to contribute their knowledge and voices to foster hope to create a more peaceful and humane world.
Global English Language Programme offered by Jesuit Worldwide Learning (JWL) strives to deliver consistent, high quality English courses to students anywhere in the world.
JWL started out by offering classroom-based community service learning courses of 3-6 months' duration in order to train students in a whole range of skills. All of those courses were developed in collaboration with university faculties to reflect tertiary level quality.
Today, JWL and its partners have developed three 6-month professional certificate courses designed to provide participants with professional knowledge, skills and competencies. They are practically-based, occupationally-specific and prepare students to enter the workforce and/or access tertiary education programmes.
We will be working with our university partners to ensure that certification provided is in line with the UNESCO standard of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
From the inception of its Learning Program in 2010, JWL has offered an academic Diploma Course in Liberal Arts. The Diploma of 45 semester credits is awarded by Regis University in Denver, Colorado USA, which is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission in the United States. The JWL curriculum is global in its focus and scope. All credits earned are Regis University credits; they are recorded on an official transcript from the university, and official transcripts are available to all JWL students.
