In local partnership with the Jesuit Refugee Service in South Asia, an international Catholic organization sponsored by the Society of Jesus that supports the redevelopment of war-torn communities in the area, Jesuit Worldwide Learning supports two learning centers located in Afghanistan: Herat and Bamiyan. In Herat and Bamyan a good percentage of the population is local. Students travel to learning sites from remote villages and other cities, and due to long and often dangerous travel some students live on-site.
“We must tell girls their voices are important.”
These images feature several of the Afghanistan Site Students, where we work and the people that make it all possible.
